At The FIT, we are committed to changing your life by dramatically improving your fitness with appropriately challenging workouts surrounded in a supportive community of friends. Our coaches are experienced and kind and the studio provides all of the functional training equipment you need to get the results you deserve. If you are ready to get FIT and desire to be in an environment that promotes hard work, discipline, and effort while still having fun then we welcome you to The FIT. We know how improved fitness can fundamentally change a person's life for the better and we want to share that gift with you!

Meet the Owner,
Jared Schomburg

Passionate Fitness Professional and Founder

Jared has always been "seeking" fitness. Whether it was creating obstacle courses in the farmyard junk pile, lifting and throwing rocks, climbing trees, or completing pull-ups on a pipe he placed between the pine trees, Jared demonstrated a consistent curiosity and work ethic regarding exercise even as a young boy. Once you know his background it isn't much of a surprise he pursued a career in fitness after graduating from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN.

His first job in fitness began at the YMCA of Rock River Valley in the fall of 2002, where he started as a Fitness Center Attendant giving equipment orientations and cleaning exercise equipment. Jared earned his training certification in 2004 and soon became the Head Trainer at the YMCA while also teaching eight classes each week. It was during this time he began having dreams and aspirations of starting his own gym and created the name for it, "The FIT," which is an acronym for The Functionally Integrated Training. His vision was to have a facility out-fitted with loads of functional training equipment and program group training sessions so that people could workout together and bond through exercise and doing hard things.

Today, The FIT is everything he dreamed it could be as the community of members continues to grow into a supportive network of people who not only train together, but live life together and bring the best out of each other!

The FIT Tenets

These are the principles The FIT is grounded upon, to which we hold ourselves accountable and use to guide our members to achieving success.

#1 Deeply define your "Why," because inspiration always precedes excellence.

#2 Be bold enough to set lofty goals, courageous enough to pursue them, and determined enough to never quit.

#3 Train a growth mindset that seeks out doing hard things and accepts difficult circumstances while continuing to give your best effort and surround yourself with others who consistently challenge you and make you better.

#4 Proactively modify your environment(s) and create systems and feedback loops within your daily life that lead you to continually great performances and even greater results over time.

#5 Actively pursue myofascial suppleness, unrestricted mobility, proper alignment, and unyielding integrity throughout your body.

#6 Strive to master movement efficiency while improving movement competency.

#7 Consistently build whole-body strength and power through a wide variety of movements, positions, and tasks.

#8 Regularly challenge your elasticity, physical adaptability, and metabolic efficiency.

#9 Eat nutrient dense foods most of the time while reasonably rewarding hard work and diligence without sabotaging your efforts or delaying the attainment of your goals.

#10 Dare to discover your athletic potential and become the person you’ve always desired to be.
